The City of Las Vegas Museum and Rough Rider Memorial Collection is a unit of the Community Development Department of the City of Las Vegas.
The Museum Board was created by a Las Vegas City ordinance, and its seven members are appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The Board oversees strategic planning and policy for the museum. Museum operations are administered by a small staff, supplemented with a dedicated group of volunteers.
The Friends of the City of Las Vegas Museum support the Museum’s mission and goals through financial support of educational programs and community outreach projects.
